Openining of Jua Kali Society Sheds in NyahururuJua kali association was opened monday Feb 21st, 2011 by Assit. Minister for Industrialization, Hon Ndiritu muriithi MP Laikipia West. Other invited guests included the senior Nyahururu  DO Mr. Wafula, MD of Nyahururu water and sanitation Joseph Theuri and Deputy mayor Irene Wachuka, and some Councillors who represented the Municipal Council of Nyahururu.


Jua kali representative Mr. Kiboi who spoke on behalf of jua kali members saying that they happy with Ndiritu Muriithi for visiting them as no senior government Officer had ever done the same. He thanked the  Municipal Council of Nyahururu for its contribution of Kshs. 100,000 to theJua Kali sector.The Jua kali members requested Laikipia West CDF through the MP to construct an AP
camp on the piece of land they have set apart to improve security in the area which is for now served by the Manguo AP Camp.
The Senior D.O gave an assurance that security will be provided and called on the members to co-operate with the government through community policing, since those who bring insecurity in the area are within the community.

Hon Nderitu Muriithi urged the jua kali to look for ways to access loan from his Ministry industrialization throug Industrial Development Bank, Joint Loans Board and other government funding systems. He perticularly also urged the youth to go for more technology in the polytechnics which the government has revived and equipped where students pay subsidized fee of less than Kshs 2000 per year to study.
